If you had to write an “I Have a Dream” speech for Palestine, like the one by Martin Luther King Jr. but with 20 sentences what would it be? (on the FB page Dear USA, Your 9/11 is our 24/7. Sincerely. Palestine)
I have a dream that one day, we the people of this world will live as brothers and sisters helping one another instead of destroying each other.
Today, Feb 4th 2012, a world where children in Africa are dying because they don’t have water, food, medical supplies; a world where an heiress bought a penthouse in Manhattan that cost $88 million , a world where Palestinians are still oppressed and killed by a government. I am miles away from Palestine today, but my heart and soul are where justice is to be uphold. So no, I am not a president, I am not a racist, I am not a hater, I am not the brightest mind in the universe but I am human and I will STAY HUMAN, and I don’t think you need much to understand that what is going on in Gaza for example, is wrong. You seriously think that growing up in this kind of environment is right for children (or anybody for that matter) ? You grow up with scars on your face, on your heart, on your soul.
How can history dare to repeat itself ? (How come we let it) It’s 1939-1945 all over again, but nobody really cares, and that I don’t understand. How can governments let others invade Irak with so little evidence of a possible nuclear arm and ‘to free Iraqis’ but no one dares to tell Israel that killing, slaughtering and murdering people is wrong, forbidden by law (international laws, but also GoD’s—> 10 commandments, ring a bell, anyone ???).
How can a crime this big stay unpunished ? Is this what we are teaching the future generations ? Committing a crime is okay for people who’s ancestors suffered ? No It’s not okay and It will never be okay. Don’t get me wrong, I condemn what happened during WW2 but our ancestors fought for what they believe was right at their time.
Today is Feb 4th 2012, and It’s our time, our turn to fight for what WE the people believe is right.
Here’s a few words for a great man, Vittorio Arrigoni.
He was fighting for the rights of the Palestinians and was murdered last year. Feb 4th is the day this man was brought to this world, so happy bday man, I hope you’re still wearing your keffiyeh in your resting place.
A winner is a dreamer who never gives up.
